Hello and welcome to my website.

These pages are intended to serve as a guide for both beginners and advanced amateur astronomers living in the north of England - particularly Northumberland where I live ;-).

On these pages you'll find details of forthcoming astronomical events, descriptions of what you can see in the night sky and links to interesting astronomy resources and internet sites.

If you want to learn more about the stars and planets or would like to meet others who share your interests you really should contact your local astronomical society. If you live in Northumberland have a look at the website of the Northumberland Astronomical Society. Otherwise, visit the website of the Federation of Astronomical Societies to find your local society in the UK.

Although I try to maintain these pages on a monthly basis there is the possibility that a longer period will elapse between updates.  This has been the case in 2007 because of my teacher training.  Check back for updates or download my book "Northumberland Astronomer's Handbook for 2007" (below) which contains most of the important events for the current month.
